Destin Wedding Venues: Beach, Harbor and Bay (2027 Guide)

Table of Contents

Destin wedding venues fall into three groups: Gulf-front resorts where you marry on the sand and dance in a ballroom, harbor and bay venues on Choctawhatchee Bay with sunsets over the water, and public beaches and parks you book with a permit. The Gulf gives you emerald water and white sand. The bay gives you calmer evenings and the sun going down in front of you. Below are 17 venues and locations, every one checked against its Google listing in September 2026, with the permit rules and what I’d look at as your photographer.

I’m Korbin, the photographer and videographer behind KDH Weddings. Destin is part of my regular coverage, with no travel fee. I’ve filmed Kevin and Josie’s and Brian and Lexi’s weddings here, photographed Chance and Sam’s beach-house wedding in the rain, and photographed Brian and Sarah at The Gulf on Okaloosa Island.

Gulf-front resorts

The easiest way to marry on the sand in Destin: the resort handles the beach setup, the rain plan and the rooms.

  • Henderson Beach Resort, 200 Henderson Resort Way (Google 4.5, 2,068 reviews). Next to Henderson Beach State Park, so the beach in front feels open and natural rather than lined with condos.
  • Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, 4000 S Sandestin Blvd (Google 4.4, 5,730 reviews). One of the biggest wedding resorts on the coast, with outdoor ceremony sites on the Gulf and large indoor ballrooms.
  • Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and The Village of Baytowne Wharf (Google 4.5, 4,403 reviews). One resort with both sides: Gulf-front ceremony spots, and bayfront lawns, terraces and a rooftop over Choctawhatchee Bay. Brian and Lexi’s wedding film is from Sandestin.
  • Hotel Effie Sandestin, 1 Grand Sandestin Blvd (Google 4.1, 1,116 reviews). A Marriott Autograph Collection hotel inside Sandestin, with a rooftop and modern event spaces.
  • Seascape Golf, Beach & Tennis Resort, Miramar Beach (Google 4.5, 1,389 reviews). A quieter Gulf-front resort for beach ceremonies and receptions.

Harbor and bay venues: the sunset side

Destin’s beaches face south, so at a Gulf-front ceremony the sunset is off to the side, down the shoreline. On the harbor and the bay, the sun can set right over the water in front of you.

  • Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village, 10 Harbor Blvd (Google 4.4, 3,707 reviews). A harborfront resort with indoor and outdoor spaces, the boardwalk and rooms in one place. Good for bigger weddings that want everything handled.
  • SOLARIS Yacht (SunQuest Cruises), Miramar Beach (Google 4.2, 157 reviews). A wedding afloat on the bay. Published packages start at about $2,300 for a yacht ceremony.
  • The Alice, 109 Calhoun Ave (Google 4.9, 56 reviews). A smaller event venue in Destin, one of the highest-rated here.
  • Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club, 300 Regatta Bay Blvd (Google 4.3, 276 reviews). Club lawns and bay views.
  • Destin Community Center, 101 Stahlman Ave (Google 4.4, 126 reviews). A city-run hall for a budget reception near the harbor.

Okaloosa Island, Fort Walton Beach and inland

Ten to twenty minutes west or north, usually at lower prices than Destin itself.

  • The Gulf, 1284 Marler Ave, Okaloosa Island (Google 4.7, 6,862 reviews). A waterfront restaurant venue on the Sound, with boats passing all evening. Brian and Sarah married here after a two-year COVID delay, with first looks for her dad and their son, and a baby-gender reveal at the reception. Brian & Sarah’s wedding at The Gulf
  • WaterVue at Brooks Street, Fort Walton Beach (Google 4.5, 111 reviews). A wedding venue on the Santa Rosa Sound.
  • Compass Rose Weddings & Events, Valparaiso (Google 4.7, 49 reviews). Overlooks Tom’s Bayou, about 20 minutes inland, and holds up to about 150 guests.

Public beaches and parks (with a permit)

Many Destin weddings are simply a beach ceremony plus a rented house or restaurant for the reception. Chance and Sam planned exactly that. When the rain wouldn’t stop, we moved the ceremony to the beach house’s back deck. The sky cleared after the vows, and we walked down to the sand for sunset photos. Chance & Sam’s Destin wedding

Couples apply for their own permits (or their planner does). I’ll help you choose the spot and the time.

Two Destin rules to plan around: sea turtle nesting season runs 1 May to 31 October, so setups come down before dark and lights stay off the beach. And public beaches are public, so pick a weekday or an early-evening time outside peak summer if you want the sand to yourselves.

What a Destin wedding costs

The venue is only one line. For a full line-by-line picture (permit, officiant, chairs, flowers, photo and video, reception), see how much a Florida beach wedding costs. One local benchmark: Destin and 30A beach-ceremony packages from planning companies commonly run about $1,500 to $4,000, before the reception.

Photography and film for Destin weddings

  • 3 hours $1,500, 6 hours $3,000, 9 hours $4,500, with a second shooter on 6 and 9 hours.
  • Videography is the same price, and booking both for the same hours takes 10% off. I shoot and edit every film myself, and drone footage is included wherever the law and the venue allow it.
  • No travel fees anywhere I work, from Mobile to 30A and Panama City Beach.

Yes. Resorts handle their own beaches. On public beaches, the rules depend on who manages the sand: the City of Destin, Okaloosa County, Walton County or the state park. Check the rule for your exact spot before you book.
