How Much Does a Wedding Videographer Cost on the Gulf Coast? (2027 Guide)

The average US couple spends about $2,300 to $4,000 on a wedding videographer, depending on whose survey you read, and Florida couples usually spend $2,500 to $4,500. Where you land depends on three things: how many hours are covered, whether there’s a second shooter, and how much editing goes into the film. On the Gulf Coast, my own videography packages are $1,500 for 3 hours, $3,000 for 6 hours and $4,500 for 9 hours, with a second shooter on 6 and 9 hours. Below are the national numbers, what each price level gets you, and how to decide what you actually need.

I’m Korbin, the photographer and videographer behind KDH Weddings in Pensacola. I shoot and edit every film myself, and I publish my prices because I think every wedding vendor should. Couples ask me about videography cost on almost every first call, so here’s the honest answer.

Why do the averages differ? The Knot’s figure includes every couple who hired a videographer, including short, budget coverage. Zola’s is weighted toward full-day packages at 150-guest weddings. The honest range for a full wedding day with an experienced videographer is roughly $2,500 to $5,000, and more in the biggest cities.

What you get at each price level

Price rangeTypical coverageWhat you usually get
Under $1,500A few hours, one cameraShort highlight clip, basic editing. Be careful at the very bottom: no backup gear and poor audio are common.
$1,500–$2,5003–6 hours, one videographerA highlight film of the ceremony and main moments
$2,500–$4,5006–8 hours, often two shootersA cinematic highlight film covering getting ready through the reception
$4,500–$8,000+Full day, two or more shootersLonger films, full ceremony and speeches, drone, faster delivery

What actually drives the price of a wedding film

  1. Hours of coverage. This is the biggest factor. Three hours covers a ceremony, portraits and a little of the reception. Six covers getting ready to the first dance. Nine covers the whole day, through the send-off.
  2. A second shooter. Two cameras mean the groom’s reaction and the walk down the aisle, and getting ready at two places at once. Mine are included on 6 and 9 hours.
  3. Editing. Most of a videographer’s time is spent after the wedding, not at it. Finding the moments, cutting to music, color and audio. A few minutes of highlight film can take days to edit.
  4. Audio. Vows and toasts are what couples rewatch most. Good audio means microphones on the officiant and the couple, and a feed from the DJ.
  5. Drone. Aerial shots of the beach or venue can cost extra. Mine are included wherever the law and the venue allow it.
  6. Travel. Many videographers charge mileage outside their home city. I don’t charge travel anywhere I work, from Mobile to 30A and Panama City Beach.
  7. Date and season. Peak Saturdays book first, and some vendors price them higher.

Photo and video together: what it costs

Booking photography and videography from one team is usually cheaper and easier than hiring two vendors, and the two never fight for the same spot during the ceremony. My photo and video prices are the same per package, and booking both for the same number of hours saves 10%:

How many hours of videography do you need?

  • 3 hours: elopements, micro-weddings, courthouse or small beach ceremonies. It covers the ceremony, portraits and the first part of the reception.
  • 6 hours: the most common choice. Getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, entrances, first dance and toasts.
  • 9 hours: big days with separate getting-ready locations, a long reception and a send-off you want on film.

A simple rule: count backwards from the moment you most want on film (usually the toasts, first dance or send-off) to when you start getting dressed. That’s your coverage.

Is a wedding videographer worth it?

Photos show you how the day looked. Film gives you what photos can’t: your partner’s voice during the vows, your dad’s toast, the way your grandmother danced. Those are the parts couples tell me they rewatch years later.

If the budget is tight, three options still get you a film:

  1. Book 3 hours and put it around the ceremony and toasts.
  2. Match your photo and video hours to get the bundle discount.
  3. Skip the extras, but never the audio.

What I wouldn’t do is skip video and ask a relative to film on a phone. Nobody wants to be the person who missed the kiss because they were behind a screen, and phone audio of vows in the wind on a beach rarely works.

What every KDH wedding film includes

  • A cinematic highlight film of your day, cut to music, built from the moments that mattered most.
  • Drone aerials of your venue and the coastline, wherever the law and your venue allow it. Included, not an add-on.
  • One team for photo and video, so we never compete for the same angle.
  • A second shooter on 6- and 9-hour days.
  • Shot and edited by me, the same person you talk to from the first call.
  • A 40% deposit holds your date, and flexible payment plans are available.

Questions to ask any videographer before you book

  1. Can I watch two or three full films, not just a trailer?
  2. Who will actually film my wedding and edit it?
  3. How do you record the vows and the toasts?
  4. Is a second shooter included, and at what point?
  5. Is drone footage included, and who handles the airspace rules?
  6. What exactly is delivered, and how long does editing take?
  7. What happens if the day runs over? (Zola puts typical overtime at $200 to $400 an hour.)
  8. Is there a travel fee for my venue?

FAQ: wedding videography cost

How much should you spend on a wedding videographer?

Zola’s cost index puts videography at about 8% of the total wedding budget. On a $30,000 wedding, that’s roughly $2,400. Most couples nationally spend between about $2,300 and $4,800.

How much does a wedding videographer cost in Florida?

Most Florida couples spend $2,500 to $4,500, according to a 2026 Florida market guide, with full-day boutique films at $3,500 to $8,000. On the Gulf Coast, my packages are $1,500, $3,000 and $4,500 for 3, 6 and 9 hours.

Is it worth getting a wedding videographer?

For most couples, yes. Video keeps what photos can’t: voices, vows, toasts and movement. If the budget is tight, a 3-hour package around the ceremony and toasts is the most valuable coverage.

Why do wedding videographers cost so much?

Most of the work happens after the wedding. Editing a cinematic film from hours of footage, syncing audio and color grading can take days, and that’s on top of the gear, the backups and the wedding day itself.

How far in advance should we book a wedding videographer?

Peak-season Saturdays on the Gulf Coast book months ahead, often a year or more. Book your videographer at the same time as your photographer.

Is it cheaper to book photo and video together?

Usually, yes. My photo and video packages are the same price, and booking both for the same number of hours takes 10% off the total.
