The Venue at Hidden Falls is an event venue in Flomaton, Alabama, on 11 acres with a 12-foot waterfall, a pond and a big lawn, plus indoor and outdoor spaces for the ceremony and reception. Anthony and Renee got married there on September 20, 2025, with a ceremony in the venue’s chapel. I shot both photo and video for their day. Here is how it went, and what to know if you are weighing Hidden Falls for your own wedding.
I’m Korbin, the photographer and videographer behind KDH Weddings. I cover weddings from Mobile to 30A with no travel fees anywhere I work. Anthony and Renee were an energetic couple who stayed calm all day. That mix made the timeline easy.

Getting ready
Glam on the Go did Renee’s hair and makeup. I like to arrive while hair is still being finished, because this is when the day slows down and the real expressions show up.

A ceremony in The Chapel
The ceremony was in The Chapel, and it isn’t a traditional chapel. Picture a barndominium: a metal building with a covered front porch, white columns and a tall open room inside. The sides open to the grounds, so the room stays bright and you can see greenery from your seat. White pews and string lights kept it simple, and warm light came across the floor as Renee walked in. I also kept one moment in black and white: Anthony in a long hug at the ceremony.

Portraits at the waterfall
The waterfall is what sets Hidden Falls apart from other rustic wedding venues in Alabama. It runs down a grassy slope through a bed of rocks, and a paved pad sits right in front of it, so a long dress and veil are easy to manage. Renee wore a lace gown with a long train, and her bouquet of blush, white and caramel roses stood out against all that green.

The pond, the fountain and the lawn
A fountain sits in the pond, and it makes a great background in soft evening light. In mid-September, sunset in our area is around 6:54 pm, so the last hour before that is the window for portraits. Anthony and Renee were easy to direct: lots of laughing, forehead touches and slow walks across the grass.

A burst of sparks after dark
We finished back at the pond after dark. Sparks fanned out behind Anthony and Renee while they kissed, then a second burst as they held hands. Open lawn, water and a dark treeline give a finale like this room to breathe and something to stand out against.

The Manor and the rest of the grounds
The venue’s site puts dinner and dancing in The Manor, or out on the lawn under the stars. Inside The Manor there’s a double staircase, chandeliers and room for round tables. There’s also a getting-ready room with a long vanity and mirrors, and the pond sits in view of the buildings.

Tips for a wedding at The Venue at Hidden Falls
- Plan portraits for the last hour of light. In mid-September that is roughly 5:50 to 6:54 pm. Start at the waterfall, then walk to the pond.
- Choose a long veil or train. Fabric in motion looks great against the rocks, and the paved pad keeps the dress clean.
- Pick colors that match the grounds. Tan suits and blush, white and caramel flowers sat well against the green and the water.
- Save 20 minutes after dark. If you want a finale by the pond, ask the venue about rules first.
- Tour near the time you will shoot. Seeing the falls and pond in evening light tells you more than any gallery. Contact the venue directly for availability and pricing.
- Build the day around the light. My wedding day timeline guide shows how to space the ceremony and portraits.
